For years, I thought I just simply Iacked energy.
Not short lived energy that I snatched from another cup of coffee…….sadly. The type of energy that lasted.
I thought what I needed was just more motivation, more discipline, a better morning routine or a supplement that would finally help me keep up with everything life was asking of me.
Maybe you’ve felt the same.
You wake up tired, push through the day, collapse into bed, and somehow still find yourself scrolling late at night because your nervous system never quite got the message that the day was over.
So naturally, we go looking for more energy.
But what if that’s not actually what we’re missing?
The Difference Nobody Talks About
Energy and vitality aren’t the same thing.
Energy is what gets you through the day.
Vitality is what makes life feel sustainable.
Energy can be borrowed.
Like from that strong cup of coffee, a sugary hit from a mid morning bar, even stress hormones can give you energy.
In fact, I believe many women are running almost entirely on borrowed energy.
They keep showing up. Caring for everyone else, crossing things off the list.
From the outside, they look like they’re coping.
Inside, they’re running on fumes. Not even reserves, they’re all gone…..just fumes.
Vitality is different.
Vitality is the quiet reserve beneath the surface.
It’s the feeling of waking up with a little more capacity than yesterday.
The steadiness that helps you respond rather than react.
The sense that your body is working with you instead of against you.
Vitality doesn’t arrive in a rush.
It grows.
Why Quick Fixes Often Don’t Last
Most solutions promise more energy.
More focus, productivity and output.
Enter the buzz words of clever marketing.
More energy! Less “brian fog”. The ability to conquer “burnout”.
But if vitality is depleted, those boosts often feel temporary.
You might feel better for a few days.
A few weeks if you’re lucky.
Then life gets busy.
The routine slips.
The symptoms creep back.
You didn’t fail miserably, it’s just that stimulation isn’t the same thing as restoration.
You can’t hustle your way into vitality.
You build it through nourishment, rhythm, rest, digestion, connection, and the small practices that tell your body it is safe enough to stop surviving.
The Ayurvedic View
In Ayurveda, true vitality is closely linked to something called ojas.
Ojas is often described as our deepest reserve of strength, resilience, immunity, and life force.
It’s what gives someone that unmistakable glow.
Not perfect skin or endless productivity.
A sense of steadiness.
A spark.
A feeling that there is something in the tank beyond what is required just to get through the day.
Ojas isn’t built through pushing harder.
It’s built through consistent acts of nourishment.
Warm meals.
Restorative sleep.
Gentle rhythms.
Meaningful connection.
Time in nature.
Moments of stillness.
Simple things.
Not always easy things.
But simple.
What I’m Really Interested In
I’m not particularly interested in helping women squeeze more productivity out of already exhausted bodies.
There are enough people teaching that (and selling pretty drinks!)
What interests me is helping women remember what it feels like to have a reserve.
To feel grounded.
To feel nourished.
To trust their bodies again.
To create lives that don’t require constant recovery.
Because when vitality returns, energy will follow naturally.
And not just as a short-lived spike. As a steady flame.
And in a world obsessed with quick fixes and endless hustle, that feels quietly revolutionary.
The practices I share through Ananda Rising Ayurveda aren’t designed to give you a temporary boost.
They’re designed to help you rebuild the foundations that vitality grows from.
One small habit.
One nourishing rhythm.
One steady step at a time.
Bec x
